WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Obergefreiter Hubert Warken, Stab Panzer Grenadier Division Feldherrnhalle.
Was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class, Russian Front Medal and the Assault Badge.
Unluckily died in an accident while on his way to the East, 13 December 1943. He was just shy of 30
Single page single sided card measures about 2.5 x 4.5 inches.
German Graves Office lists him as killed in Arras and buried in Bourdon, France. Bundesarchiv record says he died by Lieuse, France.

Participated in three campaigns. Was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class and other medals.
After 8 years service, he died in a Russian POW Camp.
Nice photo in an early Panzer wrap tunic.
The back of the card has a rendering of a grave. The single page single sided card measures about 2.75 x 4.25 inches.
Shows a little wear.

Was awarded the Honor Cross for Combatants 1914-1918 and the Finnish Medal for Freedom 1918.
Died 6:15am in the area near Bremen, 10 April 1942. He was 43.
Back of card has a saying. Single side single page card measures about 2.5 x 4.25 inches.
Bundesarchiv lists him as with 2 Ersatz Marine Artillerie Abteilung.

Was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class and the Wound Badge.
Killed 7 April 1941, Greece. He was 24.
The single page single sided card measures about 2.5 x 4.25 inches. Has religious scene on the back.
Bundesarchiv lists he was killed by an artillery round at altiture 322.35.
Buried Marino Pole, Bulgaria.
Slightly used condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Schutzpolizei Zugwachtmeister Heinrich Scherer, Polizei Schutzen Regiment 36.
Awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class, War Service Cross 2nd Class with Swords, Austrian Anschluss Medal and Wound Badge.
Killed when over run by Partisans, 11 May 1944. He was 27. Buried in Vilna, with his comrades, 13 May 1944.

“The 36th Police Rifle Regiment was formed at the end of July 1943. The 1 Battalion was formed by II SS Police Regiment 1 and the II and III Battalion by Ukrainian protection teams. The regiment was under the command of High SS and Police Leader Central and White Russia and participated in Operation Harvest Festival, April 16 to May 12, 1944. This was in the Partisan Republic of Udschadch. During the operation 7000 people were killed, 7000 were captured and 11,000 taken to forced labor.”

Killed in the difficult fighting at Stalingrad, 10 January 1943. He was 20.
German Graves database lists him as buried in Rossoschka Cemetery, which is the collective cemetery for German soldiers killed at Stalingrad.
Double page single sided card measures about 6 x 4.5 inches. Back of card has a helmet and a cross.
Excellent condition.
