WW2 Death Cards 12

 

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Gefreiter Erich Weinhold, Communications Unit.  Judicial Official from Ried.

After 3 years serving at the Front, he received a difficult wound in the West, 8 January 1945, and died.  He was 22.

Double sided single page card measures about  2.5 x 4 inches.

The German Graves Office lists him as buried in Bad Bergzabern, Germany.  This was just over the border with France.

Very good condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Kradmelder Michael Wittmann, 14 Company 468 Infantry Regiment.

Killed by the direct hit of a projectile, Delik, 2 October 1941.   He was 32.

Bundesarchiv lists him as having been killed by an artillery round to the head, Tschischowka, and that he was buried in Belie.

Double page single sided card measures about  5.5 x 4.5 inches.  Back of card has Jesus.

Excellent condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Gefreiter Josef Eberherr, Infantry Panzer Division. 

Was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class and the Tank Assault Badge.

On 28 February 1942, he was killed in Russia.  He was 31. 

Single page single sided card measures about 2.5 x 4.5 inches. Back of card has religious scene.

German Graves Office slip lists him as killed in Krizowo and buried under the unknowns at Kursk, Russia. 

Bundesarchiv lists him as serving with 2 Company Schützen Regiment 63. He was killed by an infantry round through the heart.

Good condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Luftwaffe Obergefreiter Johann Brauner, Flak Ersatz Abteilung. 

Died in a Russian hospital at the beginning of April 1945.  He was 43.

Back of card has a rendering of his grave.  Single sided single page card measures about  2.5 x 4.5 inches.

In very good condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Oberleutnant and Company Commander Gottfried Weiss, Grenadier Schützen Company.

Was awarded the iron Cross 1st Class, Iron Cross 2nd Class, Wound Badge and other medals.

Killed in the East, 18 September 1943.  He was 26.

Back of card has a knight.  Single sided single page card measures about  2.5 x 4 inches.

Includes a slip from the German Graves Office listing him as killed in Djatlowka and buried in Demidowka, Russia.

Excellent condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Luftwaffe Feldwebel Josef Lorenz, Fliegerhorstkommandantur 19 - XI Salminyarvi, (Murmansk, Russia).

Killed aboard a war ship in Hanko, Finland, 19 December 1943.  He was 29.

Bundesarchives lists he was accidentally shot among military convicts by Hanko!

German Graves lists him as buried in the cemetery at Helsinki, Finland.

Double sided single page card measures about 2.5 x 4 inches.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Luftwaffe Obergefreiter Josef Fischleder, Flakartillerie Regiment.

Killed on the West Front, 6 October 1944.  He was 35.
