WW2 Death Card Sterbebild Luftwaffe Pilot

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Luftwaffe Unteroffizier Hermann Wilhelmus. 

He suffered a flier’s death while performing a military exercise, 23 December 1938.

Back of card has rendering of Jesus. Single page single sided card measures about 2.25 x 4 inches.

WW2 German Death Card Sterbebild German Cross in Gold KG Richard Schneider

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Feldwebel Richard Schneider.  Painter from Waldmuenchen.

He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class, Iron Cross 1st Class, Infantry Assault Badge, Russian Front Medal, Wound Badge, Romanian Order 2nd Class and German Cross in Gold.  The award of the German Cross was made 2 July 1942, when he was with 11 Company Infantry Regiment 97.

He participated in the campaigns in Poland, France, the Balkans and Russia.  He was killed 22 August 1943, by Dolgenkoja.  He was 29.

The back of the card has an angel with a soldier.  The single page, single sided card measures about 2.75 x 4.25 inches. 

Includes a slip from the German Graves Office stating he was killed in Dolgenkoja and was buried in the tomb of the unknowns in Charkow, Ukraine. 

In very good condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Unteroffizier and Platoon leader Georg Grassl, Mortar Unit.

Was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class, Wound Badge in Silver, Russian Front Medal.

Killed by Lissino Korpus by shrapnel, 27 January 1944.  He was 24.

Nice photo wearing the Silver Wound Badge and the ribbons for the EK2 and the Russian Front Medal.

Single sided single page card measures about 2.75 x 4 inches.

Includes a slip from the German Graves Office listing him as buried in Sologubowka, Russia.

Used condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Soldat Heinrich Diensberg, Grenadier Regiment.  Called to military service 29 March 1944.  On 26 June 1944, he was sent to Düna.  On 6 July 1944, he was wounded by enemy shrapnel.  11 July, he was transferred to the reserve hospital in Tilsit, where he died on 14 July.  He was buried with military honors in the forest cemetery at Tilsit, 18 July 1944.  He was 17.

Photo is in Hitler Youth uniform.

Single page double sided card.  Measures about 2.5 x 4 inches.

Includes a slip from the German Grave Office listing him as dieing and being buried in Tilsit, Russia.

In very good condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Stabsgefreiter Johann Hermann Schledorn, Infantry Regiment 70. 

Died in Russian POW Camp 361-2 Moscow after being held there 3 years.  The family waited 12 years to see him again and only learned of his death in 1958.  He was 31.

Back of card has rendering of Jesus. Double  page single sided card measures about 5.75 x 4.5 inches. 

Includes a slip from the German Graves Office listing him as dieing in POW Camp Beketowka by Stalingrad ,22 July 1946 and being buried in Rossoschka, Russia.

In very good condition.

Ww2 German Death Card Sterbebild Russian POW Camp Kaukasus 1947

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Obergefreiter Richard Wagner.

Died in a Russian POW Camp in the Kaukasus, January 1947.  He was 22.

Photo shows him wearing an Iron Cross 2nd Class ribbon.

Card is dated September 1947, which is when the family would have been notified of his death.

Double page single sided card.  Measures about 5 x 5.75 inches.

Includes a slip from the German Grave Office listing him as dieing in the POW Camp Hospital 7223 at Kirowograd,  Ukraine, where he was also buried.

Good condition.

WW2 German Death Card (Sterbebild) for Army Unteroffizier and Party Member Karl Thiel, Grenadier Regiment.  Hitler Youth Leader.

Killed in the difficult fighting before Sewastopol, 16 April 1944.  He was 24.

Single page double sided card.  Measures about 2.5 x 4.5 inches.

Includes a slip from the German Grave Office listing him as killed by Sewastopol and buried in Sewastopol, Ukraine.

Carried condition.
